Lightweight for backpacking

 

Lightweight mountain climbing tents need weight reduction without losing strength. A Nordic outdoor brand asked for a product 30% lighter than aluminum poles. So we use hollow fiberglass tubes. The hollow structure has 35% lower density than solid ones. Our R&D team spent 3 months optimizing the wall thickness. The customer used our half dome tent poles on their lightest mountain climbing tent.

The poles use three poles. The total weight is less than 450 grams. This is 40% lighter than similar aluminum poles. The half-dome shape is low at the back and high at the front. This gives good wind protection and a large vestibule. The elastic ropes are pre-installed. Setup takes 3 minutes. The half dome tent poles are very easy to pack.
